Halloween Parade at the Pocket Park, Saturday at 10 a.m.

This year's Halloween event is on the morning of Halloween itself. Pick up a treat bag, join Devil Dan's parade, and visit the treat stations.

A neighbor in a red devil costume hands out candy to children at the Pocket Park

The neighborhood's annual Halloween event is on Halloween itself, Saturday, October 31, at 10 a.m. at the Miramonte Pocket Park, 3rd Street and Richey Boulevard. That's earlier than last year's afternoon event.

How it works

  1. Stop at the table on the south side of the park to pick up a trick-or-treat bag.
  2. Join Devil Dan's parade, which leads kids around the park to the treat stations.
  3. Collect treats from neighbors along the way.

The whole event usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. Goblins, ghosts, superheroes, princesses, and everyone else are welcome.

Extras this year

  • Pima County District 5 is giving each family an autographed copy of a book by local author Roni Capin Rivera-Ashford.
  • St. Mark's will host a table with candy.
  • Tucson Parks and Recreation agreed to clean up the park a day or two before the event.

Want to hand out candy? Treat stations are hosted by neighbors. Bring candy and, if you like, a small table to serve from. Costumes welcome. Let us know so we can plan for you.
