Palo Verde–Miramonte Bicycle Boulevard

The city is planning a bicycle boulevard through the neighborhood, including a new crossing at Speedway and a possible shift in alignment from Howard Avenue to Jones Boulevard.

Update, 2026: with Camino Miramonte becoming part of the bike boulevard, its speed limit will drop to 20 mph. See our October 2026 streets update.

The City of Tucson is planning the Palo Verde–Miramonte Bicycle Boulevard, a low-stress route for people walking and biking through midtown.

This spring, the City is holding two informational meetings with free bike repair and snacks: April 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Country Club Annex Park, and Saturday, April 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Miramonte Park. They will cover:

  • A draft concept for a new crossing at Speedway Boulevard
  • A recommendation on a possible shift in alignment from Howard Avenue to Jones Boulevard

Third Street, the neighborhood's main east–west route, is already a designated bike route. It links Miramonte to Himmel Park, the library, and the University of Arizona to the west.

We'll post updates on the project here as the City shares them.
